We support short term study trips for researchers to building links with outstanding innovation systems in the UK and overseas.

UK and international study trips

International mini sabbatical

A competitive award to support study and networking trips aimed at building relationships with overseas medical informatics research communities – which could be within universities or span the public and private sectors.

Staff and researchers compete for the funding by providing the following:

  • proposed partner community
  • key interlocutors
  • focus of activity
  • anticipated travel dates
  • max 400 words on why the partner was selected

Proposals would focus on the overarching theme of ‘Innovation, Academic, Commercial’ with the objective to develop strong connections with outstanding innovation communities and enhance our industry engagement activities.

Funding is competitively awarded to staff and researchers in the University of Edinburgh’s Usher Institute of Population Health Sciences & Informatics and the Institute of Genetics and Molecular Medicine.
