Data science in mental health is the integration of very large data sets, with computer science, statistics and clinical knowledge/expertise. It frequently involves such techniques as “large-scale” record linkage, OMICs, data-mining and deep/machine learning approaches.

This workshop will focus on:

  1. What are the three main drivers and three main barriers to studies in the fiend of mental health data science?
  2. What three questions could be optimally address by data science and who are the UK data scientists to address them?
  3. What are the one or two low-hanging fruit that could be addressed within the next 12 months?
  4. If not identified in questions 2 or 3, what are your top three clinical priorities and the obstacles (if any) to addressing them?
  5. What could be done to improve patient-level participation in MH data science projects in future?
